      <image:title>DOCUMENTARY - Living Prayer in Hinduism</image:title>
<image:caption>Watch here Living Prayer in Hinduism. Where to start? Hinduism first unfolds as a swirl of deities, celebrations, colours and poverty saturating the landscape. The intricacy of the Hindu faith only reveals itself once these immediate visions are relinquished and a deeper layer is allowed to come into view. Something needs to let go, and in the same time to be embraced. The pantheon of gods are different aspects of the same energy manifesting in contact of what is needed to be seen. Filming in the southern of India, Tamil Nadu, and its great temples region brought the daily practice of the common people as well as the traditions of sculptures, chanting and dance. In North India, particularly in Varanasi along the Ganges, devotion takes on a heightened intensity, where the presence of cremation rites brings worship into direct contact with mortality, creating an immediate and visceral spiritual atmosphere. The force of the natural world, with humans as part of it, found its cinematic expression in Bali: Balinese Hinduism breathes with the island’s luxuriant environment, its rituals rising like mist from rice fields and woven through forests and mountains, so that nature itself seems to participate in the sacred order. Recognising the role of recent spiritual masters like Ramana Maharishi (1879-1950), is essential. Maharishi emphasized self-inquiry and direct experience, rather than complex rituals or cultural specifics. This made Hindu philosophy more accessible to Western minds, who could relate to introspection, meditation, and the idea that the Self is always present. In the Hindu tradition, spiritual practice often aims at realising the eternal Self, not something to be attained or created, but the unchanging essence beneath mind and body. True practice is not about adding or changing, but recognising what is already here. In this context, silence itself becomes a form of devotion. The narration is based on sacred texts of Hinduism tradition. <image:title>DOCUMENTARY - Living Prayer in Buddhism</image:title>
<image:caption>Watch the film here Living Prayer in Buddhism After long research and preparation to be accepted in Buddhist communities with often difficult access, it was filmed in Laddak, Buthan, Thailand, Nepal and Mustang. The community, The Sangha constitutes one of the Three Jewels of Buddhism along with the Buddha (the master) and the Darma (the laws). The Sangha represents far more than a simple community of practitioners. It embodies the fundamental principle of interdependence that runs through all Buddhist teaching: no one journeys alone toward awakening. By offering a space for mutual support, transmission of teachings, and collective practice, the Sangha protects against spiritual isolation and deviations from the path. It materialises compassion in action through exchanges between monastics and the wider community, where material assistance meets spiritual guidance.Taking refuge in the Sangha means recognising that our personal transformation unfolds within a community that sustains us, inspires us, and constantly reminds us that individual liberation and collective well-being are inseparable in the Buddhist vision of the world. <image:title>DOCUMENTARY - The Gates of Shinto</image:title>
<image:caption>Watch the film here The Gates of Shinto Shintō, which is still largely unknown in the West, is based on the intimate relationship between Man and Nature. Kami, invisible spirits (in trees, waterfalls and animals) representing the creative force of the universe, are at the heart of Shintō, a tradition without a founder, doctrine or sacred texts.
The Gates of Shintō is the first film showing the different aspects of this tradition, which is the source of Japanese culture and is still very much alive today. It tells the myth of Amaterasu, the sun goddess, on a pilgrimage which pays homage to nature and the ancestors, through martial arts and ceremonies in shrines, including rarely accessible rituals, such as the night ceremonies within Ise sanctuaries. Support from the Association of Shintō Shrines made this film possible and opened the doors to the most remarkable Shintō sites in Japan. <image:title>DOCUMENTARY - The Gates of Shinto</image:title>
<image:caption>The Gates of Shinto A documentary by Jean-Claude Lubtchansky co-directed by Gabrielle Lubtchansky and Mikaël Lubtchansky Produce by Jon Pepper for Mulberry Tree Length 66 minutes Shinto, still unknown in the West, imprint the intimate relationship between Man and Nature. Kami, invisible spirits (trees, waterfalls, animals, creative force of the univers or divinities) are the heart and the origin of Shinto, a tradition without fonder, either a doctrine or sacred texts. No film exist relating the different aspects of the Shinto tradition, which is the source of the Japanese culture and is very alive today. Telling the myth of Amaterasu, the sun goddess, “The Gates of Shinto” is a pilgrimage : trough the respect of nature and ancestors, ceremonies in shrines, martial arts, No theatre, dances, the cycle of rice culture, sake symbolism, craftsmen work… allow to discover this ancestral culture. With a very small filming crew who immerse in this tradition, the film witnesses rituals rarely accessible, particularly nights ceremonies within Ise sanctuaries. Those scenes filmed in continuity and completed by the wisdoms of different masters, are sufficient without the need to add any extra commentaries. The audience come very close to the Japanese spirituality and impregnate the atmosphere of this secret world. Exceptional support from the Association of Shinto Shrines made this film possible and opened the doors to the most remarkable Shinto sites in Japan.</image:caption>

      <image:title>DOCUMENTARY - Living Prayer in Christianity</image:title>
<image:caption>Watch the film here Living Prayer in Christianity To approach the essence of Christianity, documentary director Jean-Claude Lubtchansky (1930-2020) used the support of icons. Illustrating biblical events, icons emerged in the early centuries of Christianity as windows into the sacred, making the invisible visible. Their development is closely linked to theology, liturgy, and monastic practice. In the film, three main locations emerge where icons continue to live as forms of prayer within Christianity. From its very origins, Saint Catherine’s Monastery, at the foot of Mount Sinai, where the divine was revealed to Moses, preserves some of the oldest surviving icons and remains a place of living, intense practice. For generations, monks have continued the Prayer of the Heart taught by the Fathers of the Desert, sustaining an unbroken lineage of contemplation. The presence of these icons bridges centuries of devotion, reminding us that the icon is not only an image, but a living threshold. On the Greek monastic peninsula of Mount Athos, entirely dedicated to contemplative life, icon painting remains a central spiritual discipline. The act of painting is inseparable from prayer, silence, and liturgy, as the iconographer works to reveal a presence rather than express individuality. Yet this rhythm extends beyond the icon workshop: tending gardens, preparing meals, and caring for the land all follow the same contemplative cadence, so that work and worship belong to a single, continuous practice shaped by devotion. In Russia, icons entered the heart of daily devotion, their luminous colours and quiet intensity accompanying both communal worship and intimate prayer, giving form to an inner life. Beyond monastic settings, the importance of gathering and community in everyday life and celebrations reflects a constant awareness of the divine presence, whether one chooses to engage with it or not. Divine action is perceived as a twofold movement: one that descends into darkness and suffering, and another that lifts toward the luminous sphere of the sacred. The narration is based on sacred traditional orthodox sources.
